An event reminder here. In two weeks time, we will have Hetan Shah who is the Executive Director of Royal Statistical Society to visit Edinburgh on 10th of November! Hope you will join us for a social chat over a wine reception and also an interesting talk from Hetan.

Hetan ShahHetan is responsible for the overall strategy and management of the Royal Statistical Society. His previous roles have included running the national charity 'Think Global' and senior think tank roles. He has written extensively on public policy issues and his co-authored publications include 'Behavioural Economics: seven principles for policymakers' and 'A New Political Economy'. His interests include evidence based policymaking, big data, international development and sustainability. Hetan is visiting senior research fellow at the Kings Policy Institute, Kings College London. He is a trustee of the Friends Provident Foundation and a non executive director of the Higher Education Statistics Agency. He was appointed as an Honorary Vice-President of the Geographical Association in 2011. Hetan has a first degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He has postgraduate qualifications in Economics and in History. He qualified as a solicitor in a City law firm.
