Mount Sion Bowling Green, Tunbridge Wells
PAPER BY DAVID SCHNEIDER AND ROY THOMPSON
So Bayes based his probability calculations on a bowling green and not a billiards table!
A few months Ago I tentatively accepted this paper for a journal of the Royal Society of London (editor Tim Holt), while emphasising that Bayes Theorem was probably first thought of by ancient civilisations, and during the seventeenth century by Blaise Pascal and Pierre Fermat, The Royal Society's electronic systems are too complicated for me, and I don't know what's happened to the paper or my report since. I haven't received any response from the editor. No version of Bayes Theorem seems to have been ever published by Thomas Bayes or Richard Price.
ADDENDUM: Professor Tim Holt F.R.S.of the University of Southampton sadly passed away during November 2022
